Simply Native Shrimp FRIED Wild Rice!

Our customers are regularly sharing their unique and delicious recipes with the team. This one really caught my attention and I wanted to share it.

Initial Prep:
  • Prepare 2 serving of Simply Native Quick Cooking Wild Rice Hot Cereal flavored with Pumpkin Seed, Cranberry, Blueberry according to package directions (using 1/2 cup wild rice blend and 1/2 cup water)
  • Set aside to cool
  • Slice and steam a desired quantity of carrots and broccoli
  • Set aside to cool
Final Preparation:
  1. Heat wok 2 minutes.
  2. Add 3-4 teaspoons olive oil and 1/2 cup red onions (coarse dice).
  3. Cook 3 minutes, stirring to prevent overcooking or browning.
  4. Add all prepared Simply Native Wild Rice mixture (about 2 cups).
  5. Add 1 cup cooked medium Shrimp, peeled, deveined and no tail.
  6. Cook 3 minutes, stirring.
  7. Add 1/4 cup diced green onion, incorporate.
  8. Clear an opening in the middle of the wok, pour in 1-2 eggs, whisked, partially cook before incorporating into rice and shrimp mixture.
  9. Add 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, 3-4 teaspoon low sodium soy sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame seeds.
  10. Cook, stirring 3-4 minutes and serve.
(next time I think I would add 1/2 cup of pineapple chunks when adding the green onion)
